Transnational meeting in Adiyaman & final conference

Our transnational meeting in Adiyaman began on September 19, when we all gathered at the municipal office to discuss our project results, the final steps before the end of the grant period, and ideas for future collaboration. We also had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Kilinc, the Mayor of Adiyaman, and Mr. Cuhadar, the Governor of Adiyaman Region, to discuss important issues and actions in Adiyaman.

In the same afternoon, we met with the training participants for the final conference, where we talked about the partner organizations and their work, the project and its results, and handed over the certificates to the training participants. After the end of the official part of the conference, we had the opportunity to talk personally with the people who played an important role, such as the volunteer trainers, the municipality staff and the participants and their families.

On September 20, after a short feedback session with the project team, we left for our social activity and visited the monuments of the Commagene era on the peaks of Mount Nemrut, the burial site of Arsameia and the ancient ruins of the city of Perre.

Face-to-Face & Virtual Training Days

14.04.2022 – 20.04.2022

With a combination of face-to face and virtual trainings we rolled out our pilot training for “SaveOur Planet”.

The participants started with face-to-face meetings that took place on 14.04.2022 – 17.04.2022. During these meetings, the participants were extensively briefed on issues of environmental interest. Among the topics discussed were the greenhouse effect, environmental pollution and climate change.

The volunteers addressed the effects of climate change on the general population but especially on people with disabilities. The unimpeded and autonomous access of all citizens to the built and natural environment was a subject for debate between the participants and the trainers, who are employees and volunteers in the community of Adiyaman.

In addition, the discourse became very interesting when working through the simple steps that everyone can take to protect the environment.

As for the online meetings that took place on the 19.04.2022 and 20.04.2022, these were a good opportunity for the volunteers to learn about digital training and collaboration platforms and to interact online. In the two meetings, the trainers focused mainly on issues of new technologies and on creating awareness on environmental protection through the use of social media.

Let the trainings beginn!

After a few months of work on the training material and all organisational details, we are finally ready to start with the actual courses!

We were able to recruit five trainers and have thirty one participants to go through our pilot trainings.

To kick off the project the Adiyaman Municipality invited all participants to a welcome event, in order to present the program and its purposes and wave the flag for the official beginning of the training courses that started on the same day.

After the first few training hours, the Adiyaman Municipality organized a welcoming dinner for all training participants and their families. The participants could get to know each other better and had the opportunity to exchange first opinions on the topics discussed before. The Adiyaman major, Mr. Kilinc, who attended the event, underlined the importance of environmental protection, especially for disabled people and emphasized the necessity of solidarity in order to combat both climate change and discrimination.

Here are some insights of the event:

As the virtual trainings will take place in the next days, we will update you with impressions and news.

The Kick-Off Meeting

On December 12 – December 16, 2021 the project-team met in Munich, at brainymotion’s offices to set the base for the project’s beginning!
We were very excited to see each other in person, to exchange gifts and talk about the differences and common practices in our different cultures and countries.

Since the agenda was quite full, we soon started with our workshop to get to know MS Teams and it’s functions. Now everyone knows how to use the common planner, the document sharing functions and the chat for the the project’s purposes. In this way we ensure that everyone is up-to-date, knows their tasks and we all have a good overview of the projects’ development.

At next we discussed what we have done so far and started planning all project details and assigned tasks in our common planner. First we reviewed the proposal and how our communications and joint efforts have gone so far. We went through all planned stages of our project, talked about the expected outputs and the best ways and strategies to realize them.

Lots of work is before us but we are looking forward to it.

Here are some impressions of our kick-off meeting.

Sleeves rolled up! We are ready to start!
Stay tuned..
